BADGES

Smore Badge

This badge shows a website that I would have for one of my 12th Grade Government classes. It talks about things such as the schedule for the year and class expectations. It is educational because it displays what a website that I may have in the future would look like, and it displays a lot of material that will help both students and parents alike.

YouTube Video

This YouTube video is an introductory assignment that I did for my students, in it, I talk and a dog moves his lips to make it seem like it is talking. This badge displays educational value because I may require my future students to utilize the software to make a similar video at the beginning of the year. This video could be used to introduce themselves to not only myself, but to the class as well. It will also be used as an icebreaker.

EdPuzzle

This is a little editing I did to the "How a Bill Becomes a Law" video. I would utilize the video along with my edits to better help my students learn. They would use it and along with this, look at the notes and questions within the video, and thus, they would advance their knowledge about the topic because they would actually be engaged with the video as opposed to merely watching it. That is how this badge displays educational value.

Summary video

This video is a little summary video I created for a lesson plan pertaining to the War of 1812. It discusses how the conflict started, the war, and its ending. This video would be utilized in a lesson for the War of 1812, and provide a quick and easy summary of the War of 1812. It tells of the main events within the war, and could be used as an excellent introductory resource for a lesson, that is the primary educational value for it.

QR Code's

This Google document is primarily of QR code's utilized for the digital citizenship lesson plan. These QR code's were used to help students learn more about the topic of cyberbullying. The students could advance their knowledge of QR code's and how they help our society, and to go along with that, the students would also further their knowledge of the respective topic of cyberbullying through the information found within the QR code's. This information includes but is not limited to videos, articles, facts, among other things. Through the learning of digital citizenship and QR code's, students get good educational value out of this lesson.

Jeopardy

This is a game of Jeopardy created for students to learn more about general US History topics. The game would be used as an end of the year study material for possibly an AP exam or something along those lines. It talks about events from the Revolutionary War to the Modern American History era. Although broad, it tests the knowledge of the students very well because the students can become reminded of concepts they may have forgotten, thus showing its educational value.

Learning Management System Badge

The Learning Management System badge was a reflection over my utilization of the Class Dojo resource. I learned that Learning Management System's are good ways to keep things in classes all together, such as attendance, grades, among other classroom materials. This badge was very useful to see how a Learning Management System would look like in a future class of mine. It was more so of educational value to myself, since I could see how this resource could aid me.

Meme Badge

The linked badge is the Meme Badge. The badge includes pictures of several things in American History and then certain words that relate to the photo. The meme's within the badge could be used for high school or middle school students, since they would understand the correlation between the humor in the message and the photos of the people. It is educational as it provides an entertainment aspect as well as the meme's having a historical idea to them.

Plagiarism and Copyright badge

This badge is very useful for both people such as myself, the teacher and for the students who will be impacted by the information within the badge. The badge allows for students to learn more about plagiarism, particularly what it is, examples of it, and how to fix it. It is very important and educational because academic dishonesty is a serious thing, especially in high school classes.
